Our Chick Visitors

Today, 10 little egg came to visit Year 1. We will be looking after them for two weeks, before they have to return to the farm. If we are very lucky, we might manage to hatch some chicks!

Super Subtraction

This week, we have been practising subtracting from 2 digit numbers. We know that when you subtract, the numbers get smaller, so you need to count backwards!

Can you subtract a small number from a big number by 'taking away'?

Remember to put the big number in your head and the small number on your fingers then count backwards!

Remember to put the first big number in your head and then count backwards on your fingers until you get to the other big number. The answer will be on your fingers!
